Here we go...

So action stations - managed to work on the list yesterday.
3: Knitting most of the day - frogged crab number one and trying an alternative.
11: Sent letters to sunshine partner and Aunty Marjorie.
17: In the post.
13: Booked tickets for West Side Story last minute - fantastic show! The choreography was fabulous, the singing superb - particularly Tony and Anita. Great end to the day.

Then started today with a trip to casualty - does this count as tryin new things?! its been 4 years since I last went...

erm...swan

erm...swan
Originally uploaded by amy jane.
This is a swan, taken on a day trip out n the boat with Paul's Aunt and Uncle....the day we snapped Ivan in rubber gloves and made the photo into mugs; the day Jasper discovered the joy of boating....a nice warm day. Funny how a piccie of a swan can bring back so many memories.

Where did the sunset go?

Where did the beautiful sunset go?
So pink and radiant in the summer air,
It vanished quickly as melted snow
Or a bum print on a chair

feeling poetic....

How have we ended up with such a sad world?
Mopping up the tears of depressed boys and girls?
Can we not find somewhere safe for them to go?
Lock them in a cupboard with a Nintendo.

day trippin'

after a deep and meaningful about the point of life at three this morning, i awoke in considerable pain from my tumble down the stairs yesterday morning.
fumbled with shopping and 'chores' then escaped to the farm park for an afternoon of farmyard frivolity. i never get tired of looking at muddy baby animals, being nibbled by cheeky goats and love-birds and watching the slight look of fear on pauls face as the geese get him in their sights yet again....
steve's first trip to the joys of white post, think it was a hit.....budgies nibbled his furry coat, a llama spat in his face, he brushed a goat - what more could you want from your saturday afternoon? Stew, homemade digestives and a cheeseboard, thats what!

Here goes nothing...

Well....having spent the past few months greedily reading any blog going thought i'd get in on the fun. No deep reflections, no revolutionary ideas, not too much of anything going on in my fuzzy brain at the moment but who knows where the future may take me. So far i've reached my third year teaching, living in a 3 bed end of terrace in delightful Hucknall - the bottom step on a long staircase? Who knows. I'm happy here so here i will sit for a while longer.
